WIN! DJ's Want To Shout You A New Swimsuit

Written by

Camilla 'Beach House Sirocco’ V-neck kaftan | $329

Summer is well and truly upon us, and you know what that means. Flies. But it also means it’s time to buy a new swimsuit and who better to help you find the perfect one than David Jones’ swimwear buyer, Hannah McNeill. McNeill is the lucky gal who gets a sneaky preview of the coolest (and hottest) swimwear lines from the likes of Jets, Isola and MINKPINK, and to ring in their gorgeous High Summer catalogue, has sorted out 2 $50 vouchers for you to win! Yep, she's that nice.

We sat down with the cozzie aficionado to discuss trends, summer holidays and what you’ll be rocking on the beach this season.

Can you tell us a little about the idea behind the new campaign?

Swimwear in David Jones is a growing and successful department and we wanted a way to talk directly to our swimwear customer showing her the array of brands and styles we have available. It was a fun way to show summer trends at their best, focusing on swim.
David Jones is a house of brands and I think we have one of the best swim departments around!

It's time to play favourites. What collection are you most excited for DJ's customers to see this season?

Where do I start, we have so many great brands and so many new brands! Jets has a fantastic range this season which caters to everyone and from next month, we are introducing a body scanner to Elizabeth Street store, where customers can get scanned and recommended what Jets swimsuits are best for them! Amazing! The Isola range is also amazing and our new brand Sunseeker is fantastic. In the younger brands, Maaji and Hippies showcase the mix and match trend very well.

Sunseeker 'Dolce Vita D Halter Top' | $94.95

What is the strongest print trend you're seeing come through for summer?

It’s less of a print trend but more of a ‘Mix It Up’, which is a trend we featured in our summer living catalogue. Mixing prints together, so anything goes. Also, the digital print trend for swim has been pretty huge with the likes of We are Handsome, Isola and Talulah showcasing these well.

Which cozzie have you snapped up to rock this summer?

Isola have an amazing digital print bikini I have my eye on but also, full pieces are so now and I love the idea of wearing them as outerwear.

Isola 'Whole Lotta Love Silk Kaftan' | $199.95

Check out the whole Isola range

Are we seeing a return to sporty full pieces or do beachy 'kinis still reign supreme for Aussie girls?

Definitely the full piece is getting more focus than ever as its so versatile but it all depends on what suits you – that’s the great thing, that there is now so much out there in swimwear, you can find anything you want!

Where is your ultimate summer destination?

We have so many amazing beaches right on our doorstep and I always like to try new places but for the top places I’ve been to, the Mediterranean for diversity or the islands off the coast of Africa in the Indian ocean have been some of the most beautiful places.

I’m definitely a bikini girl and cant go past a classic triangle but I have so many different shapes!

So the vouchers I was banging on about before? Well, entering is as easy as spotting a Pom at Bondi (hint: they're the burnt ones). Just comment below, in 25 words or less telling me where your favourite summer destination is and that sweet $50 voucher could be yours! See, told it was easy.

This competition closes on 12pmAEST Sunday 8th December, 2013.

Hamelin Bay, Western Australia - where the sand is so fine and white it'll find its way into every crevice on your body but you won't mind because the beach is that amazing.

I adore Hyams beach, it's pretty close to home but feels like you're somewhere tropical.

The Gold Coast because I can hire a scooter and cruise down the main street, stopping for gelato and a dip in the ocean!

For me, my ideal summer setting is the spectacular Jellybean pool smack bang in the middle of the Blue Mountains :)

Sun that's hot but doesn't burn, sea so salty you float (no swimming required) and stinger suits are unheard of - the one, the only... Greek Islands!
