In 2006 Blake Mycoskie (the hunky man in question) took a trip to Argentina. But instead of just tweeting pictures of himself eating giant hunks of meats served on swords he was inspired to start a business - one designed to help his muse country in question. Taking the traditional Argentine alpargata shoe he whipped it up into a version fit for consumption for the Western market and viola - the TOMS One for One movement was born. The idea being that for every pair of shoes purchased a pair will also be given to a child in need. As of 2012 TOMS has bequeathed shoes in over 40 countries around the world. That's over 10,000 pairs I might add - more than three times the number of black rhinos in the wild. How's that for a random statistic?! My point is - if you're looking for comfy kicks you could definitely do a lot worse. They'll only set you back around 44 clams and you can get them at toms.com.
