Try it now: feather nail art

Written by

First it was polka dots, then it was glitter, followed by aztec prints and now, we can't keep our hands off feathers and lace.

Here's how to make it happen...

1. Take the feather pieces and trim them to fit each nail using nail scissors.

2. Apply two coats of a nude, foundation-toned nail lacquer. You can't go wrong with OPI Nail Lacquer in Samoan Sand, $19.95.

3. Leave the lacquer to dry for a few minutes before applying a clear base coat. Unlike a fast-drying top coat, a base coat will give just the right amount of tackiness and plenty of time to apply the feathers.

Handy tip: Keep mess to a minimum by using a pair of tweezers to position and press the feather templates onto the nail bed, without smudging the lacquer.

Hands up if you're keen to try it?

Once you've tackled the feathers, try your hand at a little lace applique. You won't regret it.
