The creative director for this year's Adelaide Cabaret Festival (Kate Cebrano - you might remember her from... everywhere) sure knows how to put on a show. We've been in Adelaide soaking up her offerings all weekend like a really big cultural sponge. If you find yourself in the area you should definitely try to catch a show or three - some have shortened runs, some will be singing up a storm all festival long - but here are a trio of shows we lived and loved with plenty more on the bill.

#3 Eddie Perfect
You probably recognise his dulcet tones from TV's Offspring, but Eddie has skills and beyond being one of Nina's sidekicks. He's dark and funny and the boy can sing! His satirical one-man show will have you howling and his social observations reeling.
#2 Lea Solonga
Watch Disney's Princess Jasmine captivate 2000-odd people at a time with a 54-piece orchestra. Having won a Tony Award for her role in Miss Saigon, you mightn't have heard her name but you'll recognise her voice immediately. Far from stuffy, this is a show that will make bring tears and giggles in equal measure. Oh yeah, and did we mention she was Jasmine in Aladdin?
#1 Boylesque
Hailing from Melbourne, Boylesque is exactly what it sounds like - a bunch of fabulous men pranching around in tights. But if being fabulous was an Olympic sport, it's fair to say these guys would take the gold. It's sequins, it's sweat, it's high kicks and it's not to be missed. It's also free with any other show ticket!
The Adelaide Cabaret Festival runs through to the 23rd of June. For tickets head to adelaidecabaretfestival.com.au.
