My iPhone runs out of juice at least thrice a week. Blame my obsession with Instagram, blame my stalkerish tendencies brought on by Find My Friends... whatever's drinking up the good stuff, it's a constant fly in the ointment.
It's also why my ears pricked up when I heard about the Chargebar app - boot it up and it will point you to the nearest friendly venue (there are 70 housing the service in Sydney’s CBD and surrounding suburbs, as well as ferries on the Manly route) and you can head there to avoid battery-related disaster. Each Chargebar has eight to 12 charging cables and caters for 96% of smart phones currently on the market.
While the service is free the hope for the retailer's involved is obviously that you'll buy something while you wait - since you have to hang around while your lifeline juices up and all. But whether you do or not, it's a nifty idea, no?
Download the Chargebar app via the iTunes store.
