Scott Schuman, aka The Sartorialist, is often credited with making street style photography the blogging pursuit du jour. But it turns out he wasn't the first to jump on that particular bandwagon, because a whole mess of ye olde street style images were recently unearthed by a library in the UK. They depict the casual style of women walking the pavement in London and Paris well over 100 years ago and are the stuff of a fashion historian's wet dream. But enough about that! Here's what I would dearly love to think these women were saying at the time...
One | Yeah, it's true - my bustle brings all the boys to the yard.
Two | Holy mother of Geeves, you can do what with a neck tie?!
Three | So then I was all like, I can haz peacock hat?
Four | But he said he'd telegram... why hasn't he telegrammed?!
Five | Hey, I just met you and this is crazy, but this bike is stolen so spank me maybe?
