Jay Z: Picasso Baby Performance Art Film

Written by

As if being married to Beyonce didn’t make Jay Z rad in my books, now he’s gone and pulled off bringing performance art to the mainstream. Mr. Carter turned himself into the art with a 6-hour freestyle rap and bridged the divide between fancy-schmancy art and mainstream pop culture. The epic gig/art performance happened at New York’s Pace Gallery, but thankfully the gig has been wonderfully edited down into a more bite-sized package.

As well a spitting rhymes to students, kids and unknown street artists, a few famous faces popped up like writer and director Judd Apatow, J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons, Girls stars Jemima Kirke and Adam Driver and Sandra Gering who managed to stop Jay Z in his tracks with her ridiculously adorable smile.
