Just in case you’d forgotten how ridiculously beautiful actor and environmentalist Isabel Lucas is, Country Road along with The Woolmark Company have stepped in to remind you in a setting so beautifully Australian if you’re an Aussie reading this abroad get ready to get painfully homesick.
Set on the Boonoke sheep station, the birthplace of merino wool with stock bloodlines tracing back 146 years, this film follows the story of a young woman making the trip back to her roots. Lucas, of course, bathed in early and late sunlight has me bookmarking every.single.thing she wears and wishing I had gone on Farmer Wants A Wife so too could roam around a dusty farm looking that ethereal (Huh? Living on a farm isn’t all peachy light and festoon lit parties? Oh shoosh. This is my dream, let me live it). “Where we were shooting in rural Victoria it was just so beautiful,” she said. “The endless plains, old eucalyptus trees, amazing light”, said Lucas.
The collaboration marks Country Road’s 40th year as one of Australia’s most shopped retailers, as well as the 50th anniversary of theWoolmark symbol – five black bands that act as an independent quality assurance of every merino wool product it adorns. This is most definitely not a new relationship for either brand, Country Road and The Woolmark Company have been in cahoots since 1980 to ensure their stringent standards are represented in all collection.
On another note...anyone else want to head out and get all of their locks lopped off now a la Lucas?
